Weekly rainfall update + rain outlook 27 July 2022

There was persistent rainfall in southern Queensland and north-east New South Wales on the 21st and 22nd; daily rainfall totals recorded to 9am on the 22nd exceeded 100 mm at many sites in south-east Queensland

Cold fronts and low pressure troughs brought rainfall to parts of southern Australia during the week

Weekly rainfall totals above 50 mm were recorded in parts of south-east Queensland, in pockets along the north coast of New South Wales and in the far west and south-west of Western Australia

Rainfall totals between 10 mm and 50 mm were recorded across the south-west and south of Western Australia, parts of western Victoria and adjacent areas of south-eastern South Australia, parts of northern Tasmania, along the coast and in parts of north-central New South Wales, and in much of southern Queensland

The highest weekly total of 207.2 mm was recorded at Seventeen Seventy in Queensland

    It’s been a ‘dry July’ in southern NSW, not much wet stuff and quite a few frosts; delighted to look at the precipitation forecast for 3 to 11 Aug and see very useful rainfall starting mid next week. It would be fabulous to see winter grass feed bolstered soon.
