Stationhand Mixed Livestock – Merriwa, NSW

Our clients are a family-owned and operated mixed farming business with properties near Merriwa and Inverell; this role is based on the property situated 15 kilometres Northeast of Merriwa in the productive and picturesque Upper Hunter area of NSW. They are currently carrying 2,500 dual purpose Merino ewes for wool and meat production and 600 Shorthorn breeding cows.

We are searching for an enthusiastic and energetic station hand to be involved in all day-to-day operations. The successful applicant will need prior knowledge of all facets of cattle and sheep production and competency in handling stock with horses in hilly terrain. Low-stress stock handling skills are a necessity, and working dogs are an advantage. Some fodder cropping/machinery operation experience is ideal to assist across the fodder cropping area.

Responsible for the operations of the Wainui farm, you will ensure best practice farming management practises and optimise the performance of NAPCo’s farming enterprises; efficiently and sustainably. The Wainui Feedlot and Farm is integral to our operations and plays a key part in our successfully integrated supply chain. Situated in Wainui (between Toowoomba and Dalby), our Farm is spread across 4600ha with 1254 ha of irrigation, where we grow and harvest corn, cotton, wheat, barley and sorghum crops.

Farm Overseer, Warialda – NSW

Our clients are currently seeking a skilled and experienced individual with a broadacre cropping background to manage and oversee all daily operations of the cropping enterprise. This will include tasks such as ground preparation, sowing, harvest, liaising with agronomists, machinery maintenance, spreading, and implementing and installing the new irrigation program. From time to time, the successful candidate may also be required to assist with the feedlot operation.

You should have previous experience as a cropping farm hand and work with a modern fleet of equipment, including Patriot Spray Rig, Morris Airseeders, Class and Case Tractors, and the utilisation of Trimble GPS. Responsible for cropping and maintenance, with approximately 80% of the work being carried out in the paddock and the rest being done in conjunction with the property manager.
