Developing an immune-ready breeding cow, through protection before conception is the theme of a webinar being held later today hosted by the Australian Wagyu Association and Zoetis Animal Health
Zoetis veterinarian Dr Lee Taylor will explain the key diseases that impact reproductive performance in the breeding cow and heifer.
The presentation will focus on leptospirosis, pestivirus (BVDV) and vibriosis which are endemic to the Australian cattle herd.
Being livestreamed via Zoom, the event will take place this afternoon from 4.30pm AEST.
Each disease will be addressed on how they affect conception rates and reproductive performance. An effective vaccination program is critical to the success of disease prevention and Dr Taylor will give clear instructions on the correct time to vaccinate breeders before the start of the AI/breeding season.
A Question and answer session will follow.
