Police investigating disappearance of $108k bull

Beef Central, 13/01/2022

POLICE are investigating the disappearance of a $108,000 Angus bull from a property near Yea Central Victoria.

Texas Powerplay was bred by Texas Angus, near Warialda in NSW and sold in 2020 to a syndicate of buyers, including Victorian-based Kelly Angus – from where it was reported missing at the end of December.

A spokesman for Victoria Police said the organisation was investigating the matter, with Powerplay being the only animal missing.

The bull fetched record prices for Texas Angus when it was sold for $108,000 in 2020 – with that price beaten last year.

Both Texas Angus and Kelly Angus have taken to Facebook to call for help in the search for the bull.

“It is just devastating that Powerplay is missing, we thank everyone for the support in our attempts to locate him,” a post on the Kelly Angus page said.

“We continue to assist Police with ongoing investigations. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated if you could contact Crime stoppers 1800 333 000.”
