Much-needed seasonal relief for southern Western Australia and signs of an earlier then usual start to the northern wet season are highlighted in rainfall relativity maps released for October.

The national maps (pictured below) collated by Queensland's Department of Environment and Resources Management show how rainfall received during the month of October in each state compares to historical rainfall records.
