Beef Central, 02/05/2023

AWN has today announced the expansion of its network with Inverell-based livestock and property agency, C.L. Squires & Co, trading as AWN Squires.

The agency has serviced Northern New South Wales and Southern Queensland for over fifty years. Operating out of the Inverell Livestock Exchange (IRLX) weekly, the team also hold monthly store sales, bull and ram sales, and several Blue Ribbon Weaner sales, as well as offering private consignments, over the hook, and AuctionsPlus sales.

Originally known as Australian Wool Network, AWN has acquired five livestock and property agencies and established seven agency branches across the east and west coast since 2020, with access to fifteen major saleyards.

AWN Managing Director and CEO, John Colley, said the merging of operations would provide clients with access to a network of agents and selling centres across Australia.

“We are pleased to welcome C.L. Squires & Co to AWN. The team is highly regarded in Northern New South Wales and Southern Queensland as trusted, professional, and experienced livestock and property agents with an absolute focus on delivering client value and satisfaction which is an excellent cultural fit with AWN.”

Terry Pyne, who has been part of the team growing and evolving the C.L. Squires & Co business for over thirty years, and will continue on as branch manager commented: “We are excited to be part of an independent, forward-thinking, and growing Australian-owned
business.

“C.L. Squires & Co has been servicing clients in the Northern New South Wales and Southern Queensland regions for over fifty years. By joining AWN, we are providing our clients with access to a network of like-minded, client-focused agents across rural Australia with no compromise on the quality of service we deliver.

“Tom, Robbie, Peter, Phil, Jillian, Melissa and I would like to thank each of our clients for the tremendous support and trust they put in us, and we are looking forward to the new opportunities that we will be able to offer them with the same team and the same level of service.”

AWN was founded in 1999 as a wool broker and was originally known as Australian Wool Network.

The business grew rapidly to become the third-largest wool broker in Australia and in 2003, diversified into livestock and rural property services. AWN is now the third-largest wool and livestock agency and one of Australia’s fastest growing rural services businesses.
