Beef Central hits 25,000 readers milestone

Beef Central, 15/06/2012

Beef Central has reached an important milestone during May, reaching 25,000 different readers, known in web terminology as ‘unique browsers’, for the first time.

Many of these 25,020 unique browsers during May, arriving either via Beef Central’s free daily news email alert, or independently via the web, are frequent, if not daily visitors, Google Analytics figures show.

Other interesting Google Analytics figures reveal the extent of overseas readership of Beef Central. While the overwhelming volume of readership comes from industry stakeholders within Australia, there were almost 2000 visits from the US during May, and more than 400 each from countries like New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan and the UK. In total, visits came from a staggering 140 countries and territories across the world.

May Google Analytics figures also revealed a strong uptake of Beef Central’s new mobile version of the website, providing easier and more user-friendly access to the site for stakeholders via their i-phones, other smart-phones, i-pads and other platforms. The increase in unique browser numbers recorded in May is all the more significant, given that Beef Central’s readership is specifically focussed on the beef industry, and not the broader rural sector encompassing grains, sheep, wool and other commodities.
