FURTHER high level personnel changes are underway at Elders with an announcement to the ASX today that Michael Carroll has decided to stand down as Chairman.
The statement lists no reason for Mr Carroll’s decision, which comes just nine months after he took on the role.
Mr Carroll, a former National Australia Bank national agribusiness manager whose extensive board experience includes current board chair roles with Viridis Ag Pty Limited and Australian Rural Leadership Foundation, board roles with Rural Funds Management, Select Harvests Limited and Paraway Pastoral Company Limited, and former board roles with Sunny Queen Australia Pty Limited, Tassal Group Limited, the Australian Farm Institute, Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory Company Holdings Limited, and Meat and Livestock Australia among others, will continue to serve as a non-executive director at Elders.
Today’s statement said the Elders Board has elected Ian Wilton as Chairman to replace Mr Carroll. Mr Wilton has served on the Elders Board for the past five years.
The Board said it had also resolved to make the following consequential adjustments to the Chairmen of the Board’s committees:
• Mr Wilton will become Chairman of the Work Health and Safety and Nomination and Prudential Committees, replacing Mr Carroll.
• Robyn Clubb will replace Mr Wilton as Chairman of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.
• Diana Eilert will replace Ms Clubb as Chairman of the Remuneration and Human Resources Committee.
Last month Elders confirmed several senior executive changes to Beef Central which are outlined in this earlier article.
