It was a very mixed quality yarding which included a line of 500 yearling bulls from Mount Isa. A full panel of buyers were present and while restockers were still active on good quality pens of light weight steers and heifers, heavy feeders struggled to maintain prices, easing 5 to 10c. Very few prime cattle were on offer and heavy cows saw a lift of nearly 15c/kg. Good quality light weight restocker steers 200 to 280 kg sold to strong demand to 614.2 to average 575c up 5c, while D muscle pens sold to 492.2 to average 414c/kg. Steers 280 to 330kgs Also mate to 614.22 average 540c/kg. Restockers outbid feeders on medium weight steers paying up to 598.2 with most around 501c/kg. Heavy feeder steers lost 10c selling To 450.2 to average 427c/kg. Light weight restocker heifers saw good improvements selling to 540.2 while joinable heifers returning to the paddock over 280 kg sold to 518.2 to average 467c/kg. Medium cows were selling to 300.2 to average 294c and good heavy cows over 520 kg Sold to 310.2 to average 303c, 10 to 15c/kg.

Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 614c/kg and averaged 504c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 598c/kg and averaged 476c/kg.

Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topping at 450c/kg and averaging 406c/kg.

Malabar Holdings, Arlington, Mitchell sold Charolais steers to 590c/kg, reaching a top of $1,974 to average $1,804. The Charolais heifers sold to 480c/kg, reaching a top of $1,520 to average $1,384.

Cameron Hudson, Maranoa Downs, Mitchell sold Crossbred steers to 590c/kg, reaching a top of $1,783 to average $1,709. The Crossbred heifers sold to 460c/kg, reaching a top of $1,346 to average $1,255.

Parklane Grazing, Parklane, Drillham sold Brangus cross steers to 572c/kg, reaching a top of $1,645 to average $1,591.

L.L. & S.D. Bode, Percol Plains, McKinlay sold Angus cross heifers to 498c/kg, reaching a top of $1,418 to average $1,168. Cows in the 330-400kg range reached 270c/kg and averaged 254c/kg.
