The cattle were drawn from the regular supply area with several consignments from far western Queensland, Mount Isa and Broken Hill. All the usual export processors were present along with the regular feeder buyers plus local and interstate restockers. The yarding was dominated by yearling steers which sold to rates similar to last week for the quality lines. Yearling heifers also sold to prices that mirrored the previous sale. Bullocks sold to prices down by 11c with cow prices remaining firm. Light weight steers to restockers sold to 650c and averaged 574c with yearling steers over 280kg again to restock made 646c to average 563c/kg. Yearling steers over 330kg returning to the paddock made 616c to average 517c with heavy yearling steers to feed selling to 542c and averaging 450c/kg. Yearling heifers in the 200-280kg range to restockers made 556c to average 491c/kg. Yearling heifers over 330kg again to restock averaged 453c and sold to 522c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to feed sold to 402c/kg. Bullocks to processors made 346c to average 332c with grown steers to feed selling to 410c and averaging 389c/kg. Good heavy cows to processors sold from 270c to 322c/kg. Light weight bulls to restockers sold to 526c and averaged 455c with bulls in the 450 to 600kg range selling to 380c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors averaged 279c and sold to 320c/kg. Cows and calves sold to $2350.00/unit.
