Cattle continue to be drawn from a wide supply area, including Tennant Creek.

The overall quality of the yarding was mixed but included runs of quality local weaners, and steers continue to dominate the yarding.

A large buying panel boosted by restockers was present and operating, however feedlot operators were reduced in numbers and one major processor was absent.

Prices continue to remain firm for steers with fluctuations in places, some quality related.

Heifers mostly eased except for the lead of the medium weight yearling heifers which saw good gains.

Medium weight steers to restockers rose by 5c to 16c/kg. Yearling steers under 400kg to feed improved by 30c, while heavy weight steers to feed fell by 6c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers to restockers fell by 7c to 12c/kg. The lead of the medium weight yearling heifers to restockers improved by 19c to 20c/kg.

Cows and heavy weight bulls both fell in price off the back of the decreased processor competition.
