NVLX Wodonga 4 April 2023: Numbers drop ahead of Easter break

Selling action at Wodonga.

Yarding 500 Change -390

Numbers declined notably leading into the Easter holiday break.

Most of the usual export and domestic buyers were at the sale however not all operated fully.

The reduced supply of vealers sold to mixed trends due to the limited stock.

The bulk of the vealers made from 329 to 390c/kg. Bidding intensified for grain assisted yearlings lifting prices up by 55c/kg.

Trade steers topped at 430c, while the heifer portion sold from 316c to 430c/kg.

In the export sale not all processors operated.

Heavy bullocks jumped 20c making from 300c to 360c/kg. Heavy steers eased 4 to average 310c/kg.

The small offering of cows pressured buyer into bidding strongly.

The better finished heavy types of cows were 17c to 37c dearer selling from 284c to 308c/kg.

Heavy bulls sold at 282c to 318c/kg.
