Yarding 5800 Change +950

Numbers were up by almost 1000 for a yarding of 5800. It was a much plainer quality yarding with large numbers of secondary cows along with their young calves which were mostly in store condition. There were fair numbers of young cattle to suit the feeders though there were very few prime grown steers and heifers.

Young cattle to the trade were firm with prime yearlings selling from 402c to 486c/kg. Feeder steers were 2c to 4c dearer while the feeder heifers were 12c/kg dearer. Feeder steers sold from 436c to 518c while the feeder heifers sold from 394c to 453c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers sold to very strong competition with the young steers selling to 550c while the young restocker heifers sold to 470c/kg.

The few grown steers were firm; the grown heifers were 12c dearer. Prime grown steers sold to 417c while the prime grown heifers sold from 388c 432c/kg. Secondary cows were 10c to 20c dearer while the properly finished heavy weights were 5c/kg dearer. 2 and 3 score cows sold from 260c to 361c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows sold from 355c to 383c to average 371c/kg. Cows to the restockers sold from 290c to 349c/kg.  Heavy bulls were 12c dearer selling to 404/kg.
