Dubbo sale 5 Mar 2026: Numbers lift to 7100, with big price rises evident

Yarding 7100 Change +2700

Numbers lifted by 2700 for a mixed yarding of 7100. There were large numbers of cows, a number of which were in store condition along with large numbers of weaners suitable for the restockers. There were fair numbers of prime cattle in all sections along with only limited numbers of young cattle to suit the feeders. Northern and southern restocker support provided very strong competition on the store cows and the weaners.

Young cattle to the trade were 12c dearer with the prime yearlings selling from 440c to 491c/kg. Feeder steers and heifers finished firm to 8c/kg dearer.

Feeder steers sold from 458c to 513c while the feeder heifers sold from 392c to 481c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers were up to 55c dearer with the young steers selling to 588c while the young restocker heifers sold to 498c/kg.

Grown steers and heifers were 8c to 10c dearer with the prime grown steers selling from 410c to 488c/kg. Prime grown heifers sold from 448c to 476c/kg.

Cows to the processors were 2c to 5c dearer while the restocker cows were considerably dearer. 2 and 3 score cows to the processors sold from 260c to 376c while the prime heavy weight cows sold from 372c to 410c to average 396c/kg. Cows to the restockers sold from 270c to 426c/kg.

Heavy bulls were 20c dearer selling to 430c/kg.
