
Yarding 4654 Change -3746
Up to 90mm of rain in the drawing area certainly knocked numbers around with the yarding dropping by 3800 for a penning of 4654. It was a better quality yarding with good numbers of prime cattle in all sections along with some good runs to suit the feeders. There were not the numbers of calves and weaners we have been seeing in previous sales.
Young cattle to the trade were 10c cheaper with prime vealers and yearlings selling from 400c to 456c/kg. Feeder steers were 10c dearer while the feeder heifers were up to 25c/kg dearer. Feeder steers sold from 436c to 514c while the feeder heifers sold from 372c to 458c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers were up to 40c dearer with the young steers selling to 554c while the young restocker heifers sold to 445c/kg.
Grown steers were around firm; the grown heifers though were up to 20c/kg dearer. Prime grown steers sold from 420c to 458c while the prime grown heifers sold from 390c to 449c/kg. Cows were 6c to 8c dearer with the 2 and 3 scores selling from 242c to 372c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows sold from 365c to 392c to average 378c/kg. Cows to the restockers sold from 250c to 306c/kg. Heavy bulls were cheaper selling to 390c/kg.
