David Monk, NLRS 27/02/2026

Yarding 4400 Change -2130

The good rains in the far west certainly effected numbers with the yarding falling by 2000 for a total of 4400. It was a good quality yarding with good numbers of prime cattle in all sections along with fair numbers to suit the feeders. There were also good numbers of young cattle suitable for the restockers and backgrounders. All the regular buyers were operating along with the return of a southern trade processor.

Young cattle to the trade were 10c dearer with the prime yearlings selling from 412c to 478c/kg. Feeder steers and heifers were up to 15c dearer with the feeder steers selling from 432c to 513c/kg. Feeder heifers sold from 400c to 470c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers continue to sell to very strong competition with the young steers selling to 552c while the young heifers to the restockers sold to 452c/kg.

Grown steers and heifers were 15c dearer with the prime grown steers selling from 423c to 482c/kg. Prime grown heifers sold from 410c to 484c/kg. Cows were 10c to 15c dearer with the 2 and 3 scores to the processors selling from 310c to 388c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows sold from 372c to 414c to average 395c/kg. Cows to the restockers sold from 234c to 340c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 410c/kg.
