Overall quality was mixed, however some very good heavy cows were penned, along with a fair sample of heavy grown steers and a few bullocks and a large selection of young cattle.

Export buyer attendance was not as good as the previous week, nevertheless prices improved across a number of classes.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged over 20c/kg better.

https://www.nh-foods.com.au/A lift in the standard along with stronger demand improved average prices for medium weight yearling steers to feed by 22c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 5c/kg dearer. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or backgrounders gained 16c/kg. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed and the trade increased in price by 5c to 11c/kg. The largest samples of cows improved in price by 2c to 6c/kg.

Steer calves returning to the paddock averaged 246c and made to 252.2c and heifer calves averaged 151c/kg. Light weight yearling steers sold to restockers at an average of 269c with the occasional pen to 304.2c and poor quality lines averaged 208c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 300.2c with most around 291c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 305c to average 296c/kg.

A fair sample of light weight yearling heifers averaged close to 200c with sales to 240c and poor quality lines averaged 155c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 270.c to average 248c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to the trade averaged 280c and made to 283.2c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export slaughter made to 316.2c to average 304c and a few bullocks made to 312.2c/kg.

A fair selection of full mouth bullocks made to 285.2c to average 280c/kg.

Medium weight poor condition cows sold to restockers at an average of 174c and some better lines made to 207.2c to average 197c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows to processors averaged 196c and made to 210c/kg. A fairly large sample of good heavy cows made to 260.2c in pen lots to average 247c/kg.

Heavy bulls made to 300c/kg.
