Grant Daniel Long report

Reduced yarding this week with some much-needed rain in the district. Still 2905 head yarded in Dalby, GDL accounting for 612 of those. The usual panel of buyers were present, however, not all were operating today. Overall, the market softened across the board, with most classes selling up to 10c/kg cheaper on average. Good heavy cows sold consistently between 265 and 270 c/kg with the best topping at 275c/kg. Not many bullocks to quote this week, however what was there experienced the biggest drop selling to a top of 300c/kg.  Lightweight yearling cattle experienced the least change on the day with better lines selling firm on last week and second-class cattle selling just under last week’s rates.
