THE Beef Bling and Bowtie Ball sponsored by Protein Production Vets and hosted by Women of Lot Feeding (WOLF) has become a popular annual event for people passionate about the feedlot industry.

On Saturday night 270 people swapped their work gear for bling and gather at Toowoomba’s Clifford Park Grand Atrium, where the third race of the twilight meeting was aptly titled
the “Women of Lot Feeding handicap”.

Keynote speakers for the night were Molly, Jemima and Matilda Penfold from the Four Daughters beef brand, who spoke of their unique business model with their paddock to plate family-owned enterprise supplying premium beef to China and their domestic market of Pink Boxes.

Justin Harrison, Managing Director of First Ag Capital was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, while Brendan Kelly from Kellco put his auctioneering skills to great use to raise money for the Beef Up charity auction.

Boxes of premium beef were donated by Stockyard Beef, Mort and Co, Oakey Beef Export, Australian Agricultural Company, Kilcoy Global Foods which raised $7700 for the Leukemia Foundation, Royal Flying Doctors, Beyond Blue, Channel Country Ladies Day and Epilepsy Qld.

The annual ball provided the backdrop to create a great opportunity for people to network, catch up with old friends and make new ones. The band “Preserve the Moose” provided the fantastic entertainment on the night.
“Beef Bling and Bowties is hard work behind the scenes, but it is worth it when you see everyone thoroughly enjoying the evening and building their networks within the industry,” WOLF President – Amanda Moohen said.
