Senepols notch-up $27,000 Australian record

Setting a new Senepol breed record, Chris Simpson from CAP Genomics, Brisbane paid $27,000 for 22-month-old 5 Star M71013, taking a three quarter share and full possession, at yesterday’s 5 Star sale in Rockhampton.

 

A NEW Australian breed record price for Senepol bulls was set at the 5 Star Senepol and Tropically Adapted bull sale at CQLX Gracemere yesterday.

Chris Simpson from CAP Genomics, Brisbane paid $27,000 for 22-month-old 5 Star M71013, taking a three quarter share and full possession. CAP Genomics took three quality bulls averaging $13,167 at the sale.

Vendors Geoff and Alison Maynard and family from Jambin sold bulls across a wide area of Central and northern Queensland, and as far as Western Australia. Their previous breed record price-setter sold in 2016 made $24,000.

Continuing the sequence of spring bull sales this year recording solid, rather than spectacular results, the Maynards sold 65 5 Star bulls recording a 93pc clearance, averaging $6677.
