Beef Central, 25/09/2018

WITH tickets almost sold out for BeefEx 2018, the Australian Lot Feeders Association is encouraging stakeholders interested in attending the biennial grainfed industry conference to book now to avoid disappointment. Registrations close this Friday, 28 September.

BeefEx is the grainfed beef industry’s premier gathering and is regarded by industry participants as the key platform to hear from experts on a range of important issues to their businesses. It’s also a great opportunity to talk with exhibitors demonstrating new products, technologies and services to the industry.

ALFA president Tess Herbert said BeefEx was a great mix of highly relevant information and new ideas, and a place to catch up with peers and mates from the sector right across Australia.

“People within the feedlot sector see BeefEx as being one of those ‘not to be missed’ events, as it delivers tangible benefits to their business, as well as providing a fun social program,” Ms Herbert said.

A rich conference program will cover a variety of themes, with sessions including:

  • Big Data, Big Picture
  • Practical innovation and technology
  • Lessons from other industries
  • Crunching numbers on feedlot and beef industry economics
  • Markets and consumer trends
  • Understanding your business better
  • Tackling the big issues
  • Understanding good people and good leadership
  • Reaching our full potential

This year BeefEx will feature more than 30 exhibitors providing expertise on topics ranging from animal health and management, feedlot equipment, labour supply, consulting services and stock feed. As always, this is a great chance for delegates to find out about many new products and services, all in the one spot.

“ALFA aims to position its members at the forefront of profitability, innovation and sustainability, and the speakers and program topics selected for this year’s conference will certainly help them to achieve these goals,” Mrs Herbert said.

“At the SmartBeef event held by ALFA last year in Armidale, there were some people who missed out as the event sold out, so we do encourage people to jump in now to register for BeefEx to avoid disappointment,” she said.

The 2018 event takes place from 8-10 October at the RNA Convention Centre, at Brisbane Showgrounds.
