The unintended consequences of having enough passion to take time away from your own beef business to lead an organization that has a $2million budget, 6 permanent staff and producer representatives that are largely voluntary, trying to be the Peak Council for producers in an industry that is worth around $18billion annually, go figure!
Best wishes for the restructure Markus, hopefully you can be part of a successful resolution to this issue, would obviously be a memorable achievement if you and all concerned can get it done!
This is a transaction levy, how many levies (at $5) are collected per animal slaughtered? Cattle could now be sold 2 or 3 times prior to slaughter and therefore 2 or 3 $5 levies could be collected on each animal slaughtered.
