LOW pressure troughs triggered thunderstorms in the country’s north-west, across central Australia and in parts of Queensland and north-eastern New South Wales, bringing showers to these areas.
Cold fronts that moved across the south also brought rainfall to parts of south-western Western Australia and western Tasmania.
Rainfall totals of 10 to 50 mm were recorded in parts of the Kimberley and south-west of Western Australia, a large area in the Australia’s central interior, western Tasmania, south-east Queensland and north-east New South Wales, including some locally higher falls.
Severe thunderstorms brought localised totals of 50 to 100 mm in south-east Queensland and north-east New South Wales.
The highest weekly total was 118.5 mm at Carneys Creek The Ranch in Queensland, which included the highest daily total rainfall of 90.0 mm in the 24 hours to 9 am on 11 November.
