Weekly rainfall update + rainfall outlook 10 November 2025

LOW pressure troughs brought thunderstorms, some severe, showers and locallised hail over New South Wales and southern Queensland at the beginning and the end of the week.

Low pressure systems and associated cold fronts that crossed southern Australia during the week, resulted in rainfall and isolated thunderstorms and showers in Victoria, Tasmania and southern parts of Western Australia and South Australia. 

Throughout the week, thunderstorms, some severe, brought localised heavy rainfall across northern Australia.

Weekly totals of 10 to 50 mm, locally higher, were recorded in parts of Western Australia, south-western and south-eastern South Australia, southern and north-eastern New South Wales, much of eastern and north-western Queensland and areas in the east and north of the Northern Territory, and south-west and central Victoria. 

Weekly totals of 50 to 100 mm, locally higher, were recorded across much of Tasmania and western Victoria, and in isolated areas in the north of the Northern Territory. 

The highest weekly rainfall total (at the Bureau gauge) was 154.2 mm at Mount Baw Baw in Victoria. 

The highest daily rainfall total (at a Bureau gauge) was 87.8 mm at Highbury Station in Queensland in the 24 hours to 9 am on 9 November.
