Weekly rainfall update + rainfall outlook 4 October 2023

MOST of Australia received little to no rain during the week.

A large number of Bureau stations had their lowest September rainfall on record.

Slow moving thunderstorms brought isolated high totals in the Northern Rivers district in New South Wales on the 28th.

Weekly totals greater than 15 mm were recorded in south-west Tasmania, coastal south-west Western Australia, parts of the central and north coast of New South Wales and the Southeast Coast and Northern Tropical Coast districts in Queensland.

The highest totals during the week were in New South Wales, with the highest weekly total (at a Bureau gauge) of 69.0 mm at Clunes, and the equal highest daily total of 68.0 mm at Clunes and Rosebank, in the 24 hours to 9 am on 29 September.
