A SERIES of cold fronts and low pressure troughs swept across southern and south-eastern Australia during the week bringing thunderstorms, showers and damaging winds.
Weekly rainfall totals above 100 mm were recorded in elevated areas in north-east Victoria, on the western slopes of ranges in south-east New South Wales, and in north-west Tasmania.
The highest weekly total at a Bureau gauge of 217.6 mm was recorded at Perisher Valley AWS in New South Wales.
Weekly rainfall totals above 50 mm were recorded in most of western and northern Tasmania, in large parts of north-eastern Victoria and eastern inland New South Wales, and in the far west and south-west of Western Australia.
Rainfall totals between 10 mm and 50 mm were recorded in large parts of the west and south-west of Western Australia; much of Victoria; much of the Agricultural and Pastoral districts of South Australia; in most of Tasmania; in most of inland New South Wales; and in large areas in southern Queensland.
Flood warnings were issued for catchments across inland New South Wales, in north-eastern Victoria and in north-eastern Tasmania.
