IN AN effort to get young farmers, ag tech founders and industry leaders together to discuss the future of agriculture, the popular A Place to Call Home Podcast is hosting a Next Gen Ag Forum in Townsville on 1 August.

The one-day, face-to-face event is designed to inspire, connect, and empower the next generation of farmers, innovators and industry leaders across Queensland and beyond.

The forum will bring the heart of the ‘A Place to Call Home’ podcast to life — showcasing real stories, real challenges and real pathways for the emerging generation forging careers in agriculture, whether it’s cattle, cropping, horticulture, sheep, or emerging industries.

“A Place to Call Home has always been about real stories and real dreams. This Ag Forum takes it one step further, turning inspiration into action and creating connections that can shape the future of agriculture,” said podcast founder, Sam Fryer.

“Attendees will gain practical insights into land ownership, business development, finance, and navigating change, while connecting with a community of driven young producers passionate about innovation, resilience, and building a more sustainable, inclusive industry.”

Attendees will hear from young farmer Jacob Wolki, from Wolki Farm a multi-species paddock to plate operation, who will challenge conventional thinking and encouraging innovation in business and life.

Tom Cosentino, from Margo Consulting who has experience in infrastructure, primary production and business modelling projects and has worked as an accountant advising clients with turnovers of $12m, is also speaking alongside a range of industry panels and networking drinks.

“Whether you’re pursuing land ownership, building a business, or looking to make your mark in agriculture, A Place to Call Home: The Next Gen Ag Forum is not to be missed,” said Mr Fryer.

Registrations are now open for the A Place to Call Home – The Next Gen Ag Forum at Townsville Port, Quayside Terminal.
