New products: App allows better integration of accreditations and on-farm management

NEW Australian-designed software is for the first time enabling livestock producers to integrate livestock accreditations and on-farm management data on the one platform.

The new Aglive IntegriPro software application, which is being offered free to cattle, sheep and goat producers, promises to streamline management of livestock accreditations and collecting on-farm data, enhancing both management efficiencies and food traceability.

In December last year, Aglive was licenced by Meat & Livestock Australia as the first provider of an eNVD for use by producers and processors in Australia. The company has now taken its software a step further by developing the IntegriPro App, with its customisable farm management functions.

Aglive’s IntegriPro software system synchronises all farm accreditation and management data onto one platform, in the cloud, to provide a completely portable, digital resource accessible via smartphone, tablet or desktop.

Geelong-based software company Aglive is offering the software free to all red meat producers for its Mob Basic package, with the option to upgrade for more added features for a fee.

The program integrates farm accreditation and management data onto one platform, in the cloud, to provide a portable, digital resource accessible via smartphone, tablet or desktop.

The app is a new and upgraded version of the company’s former farmer software app, with added features for farm management and the completion of electronic National Vendor Declarations (eNVDs) and National Cattle and Sheep Health Declarations.

Customisable farm management functions make the software more than just a means of completing livestock accreditations. Unlike other farm management software on the market, Aglive IntegriPro enables producers to complete industry and commercial certifications in one central spot, including unlimited eNVDs and National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) compliance.

Capabilities to complete Meat Standards Australia, European Union and National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme declarations will also be added to the software soon. Certifications are then automatically sent on to the next receiver in the food supply chain, whether that be saleyard, transporter, processor or feedlot, or they can be printed if needed.

The release of the product will be accompanied by an awareness campaign across digital and social media channels as well as at industry events.

Aglive managing director Paul Ryan said the technology was designed to support product integrity and traceability for the red meat industry while also simplifying the process.

“Producers can now manage industry declarations, see livestock lifecycle treatments, manage paddock movements and more – all wrapped up in one powerful platform, in the field, on a mobile device and via the cloud,” he said.

“The platform allows users to manage their farm by mapping paddocks, assigning animals, monitoring feed and treatments and integrating RFID wands for full animal traceability. This allows for improved stock inventory management, ownership audit and control.”

“It provides complete umbrella accreditation, capturing certifications on the one platform and sending them on to where they need to go,” he said.

For example, as soon as a user completes an eNVD form using the app, the consignee is notified before the truck even leaves the property. The data is accessible to participants in the value chain who opt-in to the electronic NVD system.

“Importantly, this also has clear potential to assist in food provenance and telling the story of where food comes from to the consumer,” Mr Ryan said.

He said Aglive recognised that producers and the red meat supply chain needed to improve efficiencies and boost traceability as the industry moved from a paper-based system to a digital future.

He said the Aglive IntegriPro was the first and only digital software application in Australia to offer a completely paperless, Bluetooth service that integrates seamlessly with national quality assurance programs, to capture livestock data.

The Aglive IntegriPro App is available to download through the iTunes App Store and Google Play and users can then sign up to the program via the website.

    Hi Paul
The truck registration and drivers name can be added in app or hand written onto a printed copy same as your paper now. The number of stock on the eNVD can be changed by you at any time, until stock is delivered. Once delivered the eNVD is finished and can’t be changed. We are cloud based software any device anywhere anytime.

This sounds like Big Brother in stereo to me. Producers should be very clear about who can see what data and who may be allowed access to it in the future.

I am not sure how the envd works. The truck driver will still need a hard copy and the truck registration will still need to be entered so how does it work? You cannot print one out at the office as you may not know the truck registration nor the drivers name, on top of that you can never be sure what numbers of cattle you will load, I have seen them get injured just prior to loading and had to stay behind.

I have never found stock records held in an electronic form to be any good. One hard drive crash and if not backed up it is all gone forever, plus it is always clumsy to use especially on small screens compared to a simple paper notebook.
