A SERIES of informative beef production workshops covering topical and timely genetics, animal health and nutrition, and branded beef supply chain subjects will roll out across southern NSW, Victoria and South Australia over the next fortnight.

The beef production forums are designed to update producers on a series of topics that will have direct bearing on enterprise productivity and profitability.

The roadshow (full schedule at base of page) will start at Cooma, NSW next Thursday, November 20, concluding a week later after six meetings at the Coorong Angus Meningie field day on Friday, November 28.

Topics will include:

• The past, present and future of Australia’s most successful branded beef supply chain, presented by a Certified Australian Angus Beef representative
• Maximising the reproductive success of your herd, and a new tool in the fight against calf scours, presented by a Zoetis representative
• Artificial breeding: nutritional requirements for maximum results, delivered by a Nationwide Artificial Breeders representative
• 2014-2015 new sire releases, delivered by an Agri-Gene representative
• Heifer and sire selection made easy using DNA technology, presented by an HD 50K for Angus representative
• An Australian beef industry outlook, provide by a Rabobank analyst.

While the days have particular application for Angus breeders, they are open to all cattle producers. Three of the six meetings are being hosted by local Angus studs, which will take the opportunity to showcase their 2015 sale bull prospects to visitors.
