THE Young Beef Producer’s Forum is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024, with this year’s annual gathering taking place in Roma on 14-15 November.

The forum has grown from a small, locally-run event into an annual powerhouse of educational and networking opportunities for more than 250 young producers.

The event seeks to cater for a wide range of participants from 18 to 35-year-olds, including those working on and off-farm in family and corporate beef operations and support businesses.

This year’s event features a jam-packed program and a stellar speaking lineup, including Nationals leader David Littleproud, MDH’s Julie McDonald, Elders’ Lisa Hewitt, and Rabobank’s Angus Gidley-Baird.

The forum also features an exciting crew of younger contributors, with First Time Farmer Kaitie Nash, and Cam Griffin’s The Grazing Game podcast. Delegates can also look forward to hearing from local producers the McGilvray family, Womblebank, and Eustie Hill, Tosoloombilla Partnership.

The Thursday Cocktail Night is also a popular drawcard, with the event being held at the Roma Saleyards in recent years. The night, supported by Teys, also features the charity auction, hosted in the Roma Saleyards auction ring.

The proceeds from this year’s charity auction will be donated to the Lachlan Hughes Foundation.

The forum also gives opportunities for the event’s loyal sponsors to interact with the delegates and vice versa, providing a specific opportunity for young producers to practice their networking opportunities with vendors and prospective employers alike.

Delegates can also look forward to the energy of returning master of ceremonies, Joy McClymont, who’s signature high-energy approach takes the event to a level that no other corporate conference could ever reach.

YBPF 2024 takes place on 14 and 15 November 2024 at the Roma Cultural Centre.
