Teys launches new Cattle Connect paperless platform at Clermont producer day

Beef Central 12/02/2025

TEYS Australia will launch the company’s innovative Teys Cattle Connect livestock platform during its upcoming Clermont Beef Producer Information Day in Central Queensland.

The event is open to all producers and will be held at Clermont Showgrounds from 9.30am next Monday, 17 February.

The Teys team has been collaborating with producers and industry stakeholders on the design and development of Teys Cattle Connect over the past year, and it is now ready for pre-registration and sign-up by producers who wish to be amongst the first to use it.

Teys Livestock Project Manager Ethan Mooney said Cattle Connect included a paperless documentation sharing platform covering contracts, eNVDs, MSA declarations, NFAS declarations and Grasslands declarations and booking schedules.

Mr Mooney told Beef Central the new Teys Cattle Connect platform was designed to be complementary with other digital resources, like MyMLA and Meat Standards Australia’s MyMSA facility.

Teys Cattle Connect has a range of features, including showing future bookings at different Teys processing sites; Teys Livestock contracts that can be electronically generated and digitally signed by the vendor; an electronic National Vendor Declaration (eNVD) function; as well as other declarations that may be required as part of Teys specialised branded programs.

“Producers using Teys Cattle Connect no longer need to prepare paper-based documentation, unless they choose. Importantly, Teys will always accept paper-based declarations – leaving the option always in the hands of the producer,” Mr Mooney said.

“It’s a critical step for Teys. While there are other processors with electronic platforms used in-house to do bookings – this will be the first of its kind on this scale, covering the producer-processor relationship,” he said.

“It will allow producers to access the platform and be in direct contact with the Teys buying team to make decisions about what they might do, at a farm level.”

The new platform will handle both direct-consigned slaughter cattle and feeder cattle bookings.

In line with its mantra of user-based design, the feedback and suggestions from producers using Teys Cattle Connect will be valuable to future functionality development, to ensure Teys continues to meet the needs of producers.

Teys Cattle Connect will operate across all of Teys’ beef processing facilities, covering Biloela, Lakes Creek and Beenleigh in Queensland, Wagga Wagga NSW and Naracoorte in South Australia.

The platform will be introduced to livestock producers in regions further south at later events, yet to be announced. Beef Central will add an item covering those dates and venues when they are advised.

Producer Information Day

Other topics to be covered at Teys Clermont Producer Information Day next Monday (17 February) will include:
