Meat labelling will be in focus on Rural Women’s Day when Senator Susan McDonald addresses a lunch of the Rural Press Club of Queensland in Brisbane.
Susan McDonald is a primary producer, meat retailer, political advisor and Nationals Senator for Queensland.
This year she has brought issues around food labelling laws and what terms such as “plant-based chicken, beef and pork” mean for the nation’s red meat industry to the national spotlight.
The former owner of Super Butcher is now Chair of the Senate’s Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Committee which is holding a Senate Inquiry into meat category branding.
This year, she also established the Parliamentary Friends of Red Meat advocacy group.
Tickets for the Rural Press Club of Queensland lunch at Brisbane’s Tattersalls Club on Friday 15 October, International Day of Rural Women, are now on sale – click here for more information.
The Senator ticks all the boxes in terms of qualification for this address. Go Senator.
