Search begins for MLA’s next CEO

Beef Central 15/01/2024

Industry service delivery company Meat & Livestock Australia has launched a recruitment process to appoint a new managing director.

The move follows the sudden and unexpected departure of Jason Strong from the role late last year. Mr Strong finished his five-year term on 22 December.

Applications for the challenging role are now open and will close on 2 February.

MLA chair Alan Beckett said the role represented an exciting opportunity for a proven senior executive who would work with a skill-based board and an organisation with a global presence, delivering outcomes for the Australian red meat and livestock industry.

“MLA’s purpose is to deliver world leading outcomes that fuel global competitiveness, sustainability and producer profitability. The MD will develop, refine and implement the company’s strategic plan, identifying key priorities in alignment with the industry strategic plan, Red Meat 2030,” Mr Beckett said.

“The successful candidate will also engage heavily with stakeholders at all levels and have excellent supply chain knowledge. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative industry, working with a dedicated and passionate team,” he said.

MLA services the red meat industry through innovative research, development and adoption programs and effective domestic and international marketing and market development programs.
