Roma Combined Agents weekly Roma Store sale press report:

A total of 4730 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Local rainfall slowed the flow of cattle into the store sale and prices improved for heavy weight steers.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 228c/kg and averaged 200c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 195c/kg and averaged 174c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 194c/kg and averaged 166c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 190c/kg and averaged 172c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 179c/kg and averaging 168c/kg.

S Kidman & Co, Glengyle Station, Birdsville, sold Santa steers to 228c/kg for 150kg to make $342/head.

Gingie Pastoral Co, Oak Park, Charleville, sold Brangus steers to 194c for 286kg to return $556.

The Hamilton family, Denton, Longreach, sold Charbray steers to 190c for 371kg to make $705. They also sold Charbray heifers to 171c for 397kg to make $680.

Huckitta Enterprise, Huckitta, Alice Springs, Northern Territory, sold to 183c and averaged 178c for 397kg to return $705.

The Jones family, Yuleba, sold Brangus-cross steers to 180c for 377kg to make $680.

The Coomber family, Jireh Park, Roma, sold Angus-cross steers to 179c for 374kg to make $670.

The Ladbrook family, El Dorado, Roma, sold Murray Grey steers to 178c for 363kg to make $647.

The Nobbies Grazing Co, The Nobbies Station, Cloncurry, sold Droughtmaster steers to 175c for 427kg to return $748.

The Smith family, Hammond Downs, Windorah, sold Brahman-cross steers to 175c for 410kg to return $719.

The Jones family, Glenlyon, Richmond, sold Brahman steers to 171c for 522kg to make $895.

The Brown family, Cloncurry, sold Droughtmaster steers to 170c for 381kg to return $649.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 171c/kg and averaged 151c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 178c/kg and averaged 151c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 184c/kg and averaged 166c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 202c/kg and averaged 182c/kg.

S Kidman & Co, Naryilco Station, Tibooburra, sold Santa heifers to 202c for 131kg to return $266.

Duthie Park Grazing Co, Blackall, sold Santa heifers to 178c for 298kg to make $531.

Cows over 500kg hit 157c/kg and averaged 150c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 148c/kg and averaged 135c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 132c/kg and averaged 127c/kg.

Tumbar Grazing Co, Jericho, sold Angus cows to 147c for 485kg to return $713. Cows and calves sold to $900/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 158c/kg and average 141c/kg.
