Weekly Roma Store Sale press report from the Roma Saleyards Association:

A very large yarding of 12,910 head of cattle was penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 210c/kg and averaged 181c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 204c/kg and averaged 177c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 204c/kg and averaged 165c/kg, and steers in the 350-

400kg range reached 180c/kg and averaged 161c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 176c/kg and averaging 160c/kg.

Tumbar Grazing Co, Tumbar, Jericho, yarded a big line of 2773 light and medium weight steers. The light weight steers topped at 190c/kg for 270kg to return $514/head, while the medium weight steers sold to 178c for 384kg to make $685. The entire consignment of steers averaged 167c for 315kg to return $526 and grossed almost $1.5 million for the vendor.

S Kidman & Co, Glengyle Station, Birdsville, sold Santa-cross steers to 210c for 172kg to return $362.

Wallockatoo Pastoral Co, Wandoan, sold Santa steers to 204c for 312kg to make $638.

Malvie Pastoral Co, Malvie Downs, Julia Creek, sold Charbray steers to 201c for 184kg to return $371. They also sold Charbray heifers to 145c for 281kg to make $407.

The Miller family, Kooringa Downs, Roma, sold Droughtmaster steers to 188c for 222kg to return $419. They also sold Droughtmaster-cross heifers to 146c for 212kg to make $310.

Duthie Park Grazing Co, Blackall, sold Charolais-cross steers to 180c for 287kg to return $518.

Pajingo Pastoral Co, Culloden, Muttaburra, sold Charbray steers to 179c for 359kg to return $643. 

The Cameron family, Kilima, Roma, sold Charbray-cross steers to 176c for 360kg to make $634.

The Purcell family, Bridgeman Downs, Roma, sold Angus-cross steers to 176c for 301kg to return $530.

Broadford Pastoral Co, Hughenden, sold Braford steers to 170c for 334kg to return $568. 

Bruce Smith, Coleraine, Mitchell, sold Santa-cross steers to 168c for 448kg to make $754.

Dart Pastoral Co, Thirlstone, Roma, sold Droughtmaster steers to 156c for 376kg to make $588.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 144c/kg and averaged 134c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 160c/kg and averaged 138c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 160c/kg and averaged 138c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 162c/kg and averaged 144c/kg.

Redland Park, McKinlay, sold Charbray heifers to 160c for 285kg to return $457. Kelly Pastoral Co, Burslem, Hughenden, sold Brahman heifers to 144c for 245kg to make $353. 

The Nowland family, Boondoon, Charleville, sold Santa-cross heifers to 143c for 369kg to return $529.

Viking Pastoral, Rosevale Station, Julia Creek, sold Brahman heifers to 143c for 264kg to make $378. 

Longford Partnership, Glenholme, McKinlay, sold Braford-cross heifers to 143c for 255kg to return $365.

Cows over 500kg hit 140c/kg and averaged 128c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 134c/kg and averaged 114c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 118c/kg and averaged 93c/kg.

Cows and calves sold to $760/unit and averaged $618/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 200c/kg and average 153c/kg.
