The selected startups hail from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Chile, India, Israel, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, representing a diverse and innovative cross-section of the global agrifood innovation ecosystem.
The companies involved are tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing the agriculture sector, from sustainable agriculture and precision farming to supply chain optimisation and biotechnology.
The Evoke AG 2025 Startup Program offers a unique platform for startups and scaleups to showcase their solutions to key challenges in agriculture, attract investment, forge commercial partnerships and drive positive change in the agrifood sector.
AgriFutures general manager for global innovation networks Harriet Mellish said next year’s program received an overwhelming number of responses.
“For 2025, we received a record 124 applications from 22 different countries, which demonstrates the important role the event plays in providing a platform for cross-industry and cross-regional connections,” Ms Mellish said.
The startups selected for this year’s program offered novel solutions to many of the industry’s biggest challenges, whether that be water use and fertiliser use efficiency, labour shortages, greenhouse gas emissions, on-farm safety or simplifying decision making for producers in a data-rich environment, she said.
“The coming together of diverse perspectives is vital for the future growth of the global agrifood sector. In an era of rapidly evolving and often volatile market and climatic conditions, the need for innovative solutions and partnership across the agrifood supply chain has never been more critical.”
Delegates can look forward to seeing groundbreaking new ideas and technologies from 40 exhibitors in ‘Startup Alley’ alongside the advancements of ten returning enterprises at ‘Scaleup Station’.
“We are proud to have some of the previous startup companies returning to evoke AG. now as a scaleup. These businesses are growing, offering new products, and connecting with new users. It highlights the importance of evoke AG. in driving investment in innovative solutions,” Ms Mellish said.
Queensland’s minister for primary industries Tony Perrett said the startups represented an exciting opportunity to merge global expertise with local insights, improving productivity with the adoption of cutting edge agtech and innovation.
“This event puts Queensland’s agriculture sector on a global stage, and I am proud to see such heightened recognition for the industry,” he said.
EvokeAg’s Agventure Downunder program
For 2025, homegrown talent from Australia will be joined by representatives from startups from Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region as part evoke AG new ‘Agventure Downunder’ initiative.
“These are startups that are looking for business insights, networks and tailored market access support to deliver promising technologies into an Australian marketplace that has great potential for growth,” Ms Mellish said.
“Global brands view Australian ag as a launching pad for innovation, eager to partner with us because they recognise Australia is in a strong position to capitalise on new technologies emerging for agriculture.”
Throughout the two-day event selected startups and scaleups will present their innovation in action on the Demonstration Stage.
