Beef Central understands Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey will shortly make an announcement confirming that he will endorse Foreign Investment Review Board and Australian Competition and Consumer Commission approval for JBS to purchase smallgoods manufacturer and processor, Primo.

Victorian and NSW producers attending a protest meeting at Barnawatha on Monday called on Mr Hockey to delay any final endorsement of the takeover, on market consolidation grounds.
