ELDERS has announced the acquisition of Eastern Rural in Dalby.

An Elders statement released to confirm the sale which occurred on June 1 said Eastern Rural’s successful and well-respected mixed real estate and livestock agency was a perfect fit for the Elders brand.

““We are pleased to be able to grow Elders’ footprint in the Darling Downs and surrounding districts, through the acquisition of Eastern Rural,” Jamie Brogan, General Manager Qld/NT said.

“With an increased focus in the area, our new team hopes to work more efficiently to provide our clients with high-quality, personalised service.”

The acquisition will see the residential real estate side of the business integrate fully into Elders’, retaining all staff and offering residential and commercial sales in addition to property management through the Elders Real Estate brand.

Mr Brogan says the outlook for real estate in Dalby was very positive, with recent government investment priming the region for a period of sustained growth.

“Local, State and Federal Government have all invested significant capital in infrastructure in Dalby to take advantage of the area’s agriculture, resource and manufacturing sectors.

“The opportunity for us to play an increased role in fostering growth in the region was too exciting to pass up.”

The livestock agency, rural real estate and clearing sales will continue to be operated through the Eastern Rural brand.

With Darling Downs one of the largest livestock capital regions in Australia, recent rain means the industry is primed for strong growth.

“Dalby saleyards is one of Australia’s most significant cattle marketing facilities with an annual turnover of 200,000+ head of cattle. With local weather forecasts indicating a return to average rainfall in the district, we see plenty of opportunity for livestock growth,” said Mr Brogan.

Eastern Rural Director Andrew Kirtley says the deal with Elders is an exciting new chapter for Dalby and its surrounds.

“Elders has been brilliant to work with throughout this whole process. It is a respected business with strong roots in Australia’s rural communities and we are excited to see what this deal will bring to the region.”

Despite the changes, Mr Kirtley insists it will be business as usual in Dalby, with Elders and Eastern Rural working together to deliver the high level of customer service the community has come to expect. “
