Cattle Council of Australia offering free memberships at Beef 2021

Beef Central, 06/05/2021

Cattle Council President Markus Rathsmann said the free membership drive would allow more producers to be kept informed about national and international issues affecting their industry and have a say about their future.

“More members will make a more effective industry representative body,” Mr Rathsmann said.

“We want as many producers as possible giving their input into how the industry should run.

“This is particularly relevant now as we are working with other cattle industry groups to create a more democratic, engaging and effective national representative organisation for producers.

“Free membership will help us better communicate with as many producers as possible on this pivotal industry discussion.

“Cattle Council is here to improve long-term profitability for the beef cattle industry through advocacy, building capacity and policy development.

“Industry Systems, Biosecurity, Animal Welfare, Research and Development, Environment and Trade are just some of the areas where we develop policies that are taken to the Commonwealth.

“Cattle Council is set up to negotiate directly with the Federal Government about regulations, programs and laws that affect farm productivity and profitability, so it makes sense for producers to be part of it.

“New members will get to see more of the work we do and continue to support their national organisation in the long run.

“They’ll also get to vote on important industry matters at our AGM, run for positions on our board, or serve on our policy council.

“This is a real opportunity to get involved with the future of Aussie Beef.”
