Cattle Australia is seeking nominations from eligible people to stand for two Directorships – one in the northern region and one in the southern region – that are up for rotation per the constitution.
The term is for three years and existing Directors may apply for a second term.
“As the nationally elected grower representative body for the Australian beef production sector, Cattle Australia is on the front line of advocacy and policy setting to assist the sector to be resilient, sustainable, and profitable,” a Cattle Australia statement said.
“In a period of great change and challenge for our Industry in areas such as Climate measures, Bio-Security threats, Industry Levies and global Market Access, your participation on the front line will be both challenging and rewarding.
“As an elected Director, you will get the chance to join with six other passionate industry professionals with broad experience and a wide and diverse skill set to help our industry prosper. Additionally, Directors will gain access to CA ‘s highly engaged and experienced staff to assist in their Industry advocacy and policy preparation and knowledge.”
The statement also listed several reasons why producers should nominate including “being a part of the only legislated organisation dedicated to representing grass-fed cattle producers; playing a key role in shaping the future of the grass-fed cattle industry, ensuring the voices of Australian cattle producers are heard; being a part of a powerful voice representing Australian cattle producers and beef lovers; and helping shape the future of the grassfed cattle sector”.
