BeefUp forum heads to Georgetown next week

A Beefup Forum has been announced for the Georgetown Region over two days on June 14 – 15 at the Etheridge Shire Council Hall.  Hosted by Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), north Queensland beef producers and other key industry stakeholders will have the opportunity to hear about the latest in local and world-leading research and technologies for the beef industry.

The Beefup forum is set to be a captivating program, relevant to the issues and ongoing industry requirements of the region.

The Forum has a list of compelling speakers such as Dr Kieran McCosker, Senior Research Fellow, and Professor Michael McGowan.

The topics to be covered on the day include:

  • Land Condition and Carrying Capacities
  • Building a Resilient Beef Business
  • Calf Mortality
  • Carbon Farming
  • Genetics & Breeder Management

Alongside the formal discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to network with other producers and learn from exhibitors. There will be a networking dinner following the Forum, hosted by Trevor Farmer, co-founder of Topcatz.
