Ruralco-Landmark deal gains shareholder approval

Beef Central, 09/09/2019

RURALCO shareholders on Friday voted in favour of accepting the takeover proposal from Canadian fertiliser business Nutrien, following clearances mid-year by Australian regulators FIRB and ACCC for the $469 million acquisition.

The transaction is set to be settled on 30 September 2019.

Nutrien, describing itself as the world’s largest provider of crop inputs and services, is the owner of Landmark and intends to use the Australian company to takeover ASX-listed Ruralco.
