Diversified rural services provider Ruralco has a new board chairman, following the election of Rick Lee to the position. He succeeds Richard England who resigned this week.
Rick Lee has served on a number of corporate boards since 2001, when he retired as chief executive of investment banker Rothschild Australia. Prior to that he worked in a number of senior management positions with CSR Sugar division.
He is currently deputy chairman of the Ridley Corporation stockfeed business, and a director of Graincorp, Wesfarmers Insurance, and miners, Oil Search Ltd and Newcrest.
Mr Lee said he was interested in the significant growth potential for Australian agribusiness, and where these opportunities best lie for Ruralco and its shareholders.
Former chairman Richard England flagged his decision to step down at the company’s AGM in February, electing to stay on until new CEO Travis Dillon found his feet. He joined the Ruralco board in 2002, and steered the company through a significant growth phase.
