96 Polaris SSVs recalled

Beef Central, 14/01/2021

THE ACCC’s Product Safety unit has issued a recall for 96 Polaris side by side vehicles sold between December 2019 and October 2020, due to concerns that clutches may fail under high-load, low speed conditions.

The recall relates specifically to RZR PRO XP and XP4 side by side vehicles, model years of 2020-2021, and RZR Turbo S and S4 and RZR XP Turbo and Turbo 4 from the 2021 model year.

The recall notice states that 96 vehicles are possibly affected. The SSVs were sold nationally from 24 December 2019 to 12 October 2020.

A list of affected Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) can be viewed here.

The notice says the clutch may fail under high-load, low speed conditions.

“If the clutch fails, this can cause clutch components to be ejected from the clutch housing. This could increase the risk of an accident and injury to vehicle occupants or other road users.”

Consumers should stop using the vehicle and contact an authorised Polaris dealer to arrange for an inspection and repair.

To find a local dealer, visit https://www.polarisaustralia.com/find-a-dealer/list-view/ or phone 1300 654 142.

For further information, consumers should contact Polaris Customer Service on 03 9394 5671.
