Weaner steers to 210c/kg at big Roma store sale

Roma's weekly store sale yarded 10,600 head yesterday, with weaner steers under 220kg topping at 210c/kg and averaging 173c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 187c/kg and averaged 162c/kg.

Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 186c/kg and averaged 160c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 170c/kg and averaged 158c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 167c/kg and averaging 153c/kg.

Bracco Cattle Co, Amaroo, Roma, sold Charolais steers averaging 277kg to 187c/kg to make $519/head.

The White family, Roma, sold 307kg average weight Charolais-cross steers to 186c to return $572. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 162c for 285kg to make $463.

Perrett Cattle Co, Tunis, Injune, sold Charolais steers to 186c for 301kg to make $561. They also sold Charolais heifers to 161c for 277kg to return $448.

The Postle family, Doboy, Injune, sold Charolais-cross steers to 186c for 260kg to return $484.

The McIntosh family, Basin Downs, Surat, sold Santa-cross steers to 186c for 256kg to return $478. They also sold Santa-cross heifers to 150c for 213kg to make $319.

Banchory Grazing, Dulacca Downs, Dulacca, sold Angus-cross steers to 182c for 236kg to return $430.

Bambloom, Richmond Downs, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 179c for 287kg to make $514. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 160c for 287kg to return $460.

The Mobbs family, Wallambank, Bollon, sold Charolais-cross steers to 178c for 281kg to return $502.

Alan Albeck, Glenfrog, Wallumbilla, sold Angus-cross steers to 175c for 316kg to make $554.

Bungaringa Grazing Co, Mitchell, sold Shorthorn-cross steers to 172c for 246kg to make $424.

The Douglas family, Springfield, Mitchell, sold Droughtmaster steers to 168c for 226kg to make $380.

John Crook-King, Pendine Station, Barcaldine, sold Santa-cross steers to 167c for 374kg to return $625.

The Pether family, Auteuil Station, Barcaldine, sold Charolais-cross steers to 164c for 417kg to make $685. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 153c for 377kg to make $578.

R Clunes, Lorraine, Roma, sold EU Droughtmaster steers to 164c for 329kg to return $541. They also sold Droughtmaster heifers to 151c for 317kg to make $479.

John Gosper, Yannagan, Roma, sold Brangus steers to 160c for 243kg to return $390. They also sold Brangus heifers to 150c for 234kg to make $352.

Mt Rourke Pastoral Co, Boolbie, Winton, sold Droughtmaster steers to 156c for 450kg to return $703.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 156c/kg and averaged 135c/kg, while heifers 280-350kg topped at 162c/kg and averaged 133c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 161c/kg and averaged 142c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 162c/kg and averaged 141c/kg.

The Wilkin family, Everbroke, Roma, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 156c for 359kg to return $560.

Tumbar Grazing Co, Tumbar, Jericho, sold Charolais heifers to 151c for 292kg to make $442.

Cows over 500kg hit 145c/kg and averaged 115c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 118c/kg and averaged 98c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 108c/kg and averaged 93c/kg.

Cows and calves sold to $610/unit, while bulls up to 400kg reached 160c/kg and averaged 143c/kg.
