Yarding 2090 Change -1110
In a much smaller offering of 2090 at Wagga, buyers were forced to step up with feedlots the market drivers.
Price surges of 20c to 25c were common across the medium and heavy steer categories. Steers medium weight spiked by 25c/kg. The bulk selling from 370c to 427c/kg. Lighter weight steers did loose 15c due to a smaller group of buyers and a few more colored cattle in the mix. Price ranged from 350c to 420c/kg.
One of the features of the sale was the bullock run. Bullocks weighing between 600 to 700kg jumped 25c/kg. The bulk trading between 360c and 403c/kg. Feedlots chased heavy steers 500 to 600kg causing domestic buyers to bid strongly to acquire numbers. Heavy kill steers to the processors sold from 320c to 401c/kg gaining 10c/kg. Heavy steers to the feedlots made from 360c to 418c improving 15c/kg.
There were only 375 cows yarded and prices improved as the sale progressed. Heavy cows lifted 10c selling from 328c to 359c/kg. Leaner types under 530kg sold from 255c to 313c/kg.
There were limited numbers of trade cattle 400 to 500kg to suit domestic processors. The steers and the heifers gaining 10c to 20c, the bulk making from 312c to 390c/kg.
Light weight steers returning to the paddock sold to patchy demand, however prices were unchanged selling from 326 to 426c/kg.
