Yarding 3680 Change +580
The surge in prices the previous sale attracted a few more cattle to Wagga with agents penning 3,680 head 580 more than the last week.
The cold conditions was reflected in the quality however there was a good lineup of heavy weight cows and a few pens of grain assisted yearlings.
The regular panel of buyers was present and operating in a generally dearer market.
Yearling steers and heifers to feed lifted in price with the heavy end of both categories receiving the most support.
All classes of cows improved in price with plain condition lines noticeably dearer.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to a top of 439c to average 407c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 355c and made to 393c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to a top of 410c with the largest numbers in the mid-380c/kg range.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 346c to average 312c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 325c and made to 350c/kg.
Bullocks made to 375c and averaged 370c/kg.
Heavy export heifers to processors sold to 365c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows made to 275c to average 261c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 291c and the best of the heavy weight cows reached a top of 339c with a good sample at 320c/kg.
