Yarding 8706 Change +3559

A quality line up of cattle penned which were drawn from NSW and with large consignments from the usual supply districts.

All the regular processors feedlotters and backgrounders present and active but buyers selective on quality.

Yearling steer were 10c to 20c/kg easier across the board. Yearling steers under 200kg topped 444c to average 429c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg topped at 480c/kg. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg made to 442c and averaged 384c/kg. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg to feed went against the trend and sold to 294c with the restockers selling to 418c/kg. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg averaged 325c and made to 344c/kg with the over 480kg selling to 326c/kg.

Yearling heifers under 200kg had the biggest adjustment selling from 118c to 270c/kg. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg returning to the paddock sold to 290c and averaged 265c/kg. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg eased as well selling to 290c/kg. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg made to 290c as well. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg sold firm to top at 314c/kg with the over 480kg selling to 258c/kg to feed.

Grown steers 400 to 500kg topped at 324c and the 500 to 600kg sold to 304c/kg to feed and to 286c/kg to processors with bullocks selling to 288c/kg.

Grown heifers over 540kg made to 254c/kg. A large number of cows penned and eased by 20c and up to 40c/kg in places. The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg sold from 110c to 228c/kg. The 3 score cows over 520kg topped 255c/kg.

The best of the heavy weight bulls to 264c/kg.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 438c/kg and averaged 413c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 480c/kg and averaged 399c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 442c/kg and averaged 371c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 416c/kg and averaged 338c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 366c/kg and averaged 311c/kg.

Bungoona Pastoral, Bungoona, Longreach sold Charolais steers to 474c/kg, reaching a top of $1,508 to average $1,325.

VJ & GL Packer & Sons Pty Ltd, Kurrajong, Roma sold Charolais cross steers to 448c/kg, reaching a top of $1,350 to average $1,243.  The Charolais cross heifers sold to 270c/kg, reaching a top of $1,010 to average $681.

JAC Pastoral Co, Bungoona, Longreach sold Charolais cross steers to 440c/kg, reaching a top of $1,116 to average $1,077.  The Charolais cross heifers sold to 300c/kg, reaching a $1,016 to average $789.

Palmer Steel Trading, Weribone, Surat sold Brangus steers to 430c/kg, reaching a top of $1,523 to average $1,119.  The Brangus heifers sold to 287c/kg, reaching a top of 287c/kg $1,146 to average $1,039.

MD & FE Bidgood, Katoomba, Injune sold Charolais cross steers to 418c/kg, reaching a top of $1,258 to average $1,200.

Thompson Business Trust, Miltonise, St George sold Charolais cross steers to 402c/kg, reaching a top of $1,299 to average $1,270.

L Weir, Crowman, Injune sold Simmental cross steers to 394c/kg, reaching a top of $1,226 to average $1,215.  The Simmental cross heifers sold to 290c/kg, reaching a top of $951 to average $775.

Phillip Proctor, Warrana, Coonamble sold Droughtmaster steers to 386c/kg, reaching a top of $1,104 to average $969.

Yarrawonga Cattle Co, Wallumbilla sold Santa Gertrudis cross cows to 254c/kg, reaching a top of $1,808 to average $1,662.

Boxvale Cattle Co, Boxvale, Taroom sold Santa Gertrudis cross cows to 244c/kg, reaching a top of $1,593 to average $1,266.
