Yarding 2417 Change -2789
A large reduction in numbers yarded at Roma to 2417 down 2789 head less than previous sale. In today’s offering approximately 200 top quality Angus heifers sold open auction.
All the regular processors in attendance and operating as well as feedlotters and backgrounders. Once again buyers were operating on the better bred quality lines, with the lesser quality cattle still effected. Light weight yearling steers returning the paddock up to 200kg topped at 320c to average 304c/kg.
Yearling steers 200 to 280kg averaged 303c made to 304c/kg. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg made to 274 to average 257c/kg. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg topped at 288c to average 269c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers 200 to 280kg returning to the paddock made to 198c to average 180c/kg. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg averaged 204c topping at 232c/kg. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg to feed made to 242c to average 188c/kg.
Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg made to 232c and averaged 201c/kg. A small selection of grown steers 500 to 600kg made to 244c to average 240c/kg.
Well finished bullocks topped at 240c/kg. Medium weight score 2 cows made to 185c to average 158c/kg.
Heavy weight score 3 cows averaged 197c and topped at 217c/kg. Best of the heavy weight bulls to 248c/kg. The open auction Angus heifers sold from $1,150 to $1,900/head.
