Yarding 2664 Change -3337
Cattle were mostly drawn from the local supply area, in a mixed quality yarding with limited numbers of large single vendor lines. A good buying panel of mostly restockers was present and operating, including all regular processors however one processor did not operate. Southern processors continue to maintain a presence. Competition was strong on quality lines with price fluctuations reflective of quality variations.
Light weight steers under 280kg improved by 25c to 27c. Medium weight steers to restockers improved by 5c to 25c/kg. Heavy feeder steers improved by 11c. Light weight heifers improved by 31c to 56c while medium weight heifers to restockers improved by 28c to 51c/kg. Heavy weight cows improved by 17c to 31c/kg.
Light weight steers under 200kg made to 618.2c to average 588 c/kg while light weight yearling steers under 280kg to restockers also made to 662.2c to average 610c/kg.
Medium weight yearling steers under 330kg to restockers reached 626.2c to average 591c/kg while medium weight yearling steers under 400kg to restockers made to 580.2c to average 511c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed reached a top of 476.2c to average 444c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to 500.2c to average 440c/kg while light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers made to 560.2c to average 518c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg to restockers sold to 550.2c to average 499c/kg while medium weight yearling heifers under 400kg to restockers reached a top of 486.2c to average 454c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 448.2c to average 428c/kg.
Heavy weight grown steers sold to 369.2c to average 369c/kg. The largest sample of the grown heifers made to 364.2c to average 353c/kg. PTIC grown heifers sold to $1,860/head while PTIC red tag cows reached $2,420/head. Medium weight prime cows reached a top of 359.2c to average 339c/kg while heavy weight prime cows made to 364.2c to average 348c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 276.2c to average 241c/kg. There were no cows and calves yarded.
